as the handout says, sharpies are unacceptable—they'll turn purple and are not opaque—yet they are labeled "permanent," thus i warn you of any pen that only says it's permanent with no mention of india ink.
if you have some sort of pen you aren't certain about: i suggest before you do your final do a small test area on some scrap/extra area of the board. let it dry for a while and see how it turns out.
and don't spray crystal clear inside anywhere!
